Cusco and Sims technique and swabs.

- Consent, chaperone; lubricate.
- Part labia; insert blades vertical, rotate 90° as you go in.
- Open, find cervix, lock.
- Inspect: discharge, ectropion, polyp, ulcer, growth, bleeding, os open/closed.
- Take swabs, then unlock and withdraw slightly open.

Sims: left lateral; single blade lifts posterior wall — ask her to cough to show prolapse.
